Today, I was food shamed by my boyfriend in front of an entire restaurant and his parents because my meal cost more than his. His mom chimed in saying her meal usually costs more than his step dad's too and not to be upset. I'm 8 months pregnant, of course mine costs more. FML

Pregnant or not who gives a ****?! Unless you ordered $100 food which I doubt. My meals always end up cheaper because most of the time the others order steak or something and I just get what I like which works out cheaper.

Could mean that you have a better taste in food than him too.

Screw him for making a big deal about it. He shouldn't do that at any rate. However, it is worth noting that you don't need to "eat for two" when you're pregnant, you only need a couple of hundred extra calories a day.

You need to eat healthier, and healthier food at restaurants is moe expensive.

At least the mom jumped in. Pregnant or not you should thank her for that

Don't use pregnancy as an excuse. You make other women look bad.

Ever hear of cravings? Or having to eat at least 300 more calories than usual? Stfu.

It's incredibly impulsive to act on every craving you have, even if you're pregnant. OP needs more self control.

You don't know if the there was more food. All it says is that it was more expensive. And it doesn't say by how much.

Pregnancy cravings are generally caused because your body is lacking in a certain nutrient and starts craving certain foods to obtain it. That's why you hear of pregnant women getting a craving to eat dirt. It's not that they're impulsive and gorging themselves and have no control. It's that they're growing an entire human being in their body and many women are told to either eat/avoid certain foods and many are told to increase their caloric intake. Your ignorance is showing.

There's no "of course" because you're pregnant (you only need an extra approx 300 calories a day for the last trimester) but pregnant or not there's absolutely no need to embarrass someone about their meal costing more!! What a dick.

My other half is pregnant too, of course you'll eat more, you need a smarter boyfriend....

Tell him you get to eat how ever much you want because he is not making life in his body so shut up.

Actually making life is the exact reason to watch what you eat. Yes, extra calories are needed but they should come from wholesome foods. Pregnant women have as much right as anyone else to indulge; but pregnancy is not a free pass to wash down McDonalds with a box of Oreos in the name of eating for two.

Pregnant women have to gain weight during their pregnancy. Some one who is average weight before getting pregnant is expected to gaib 25-35 pounds and take in at about 300 extra calories. The activity level of the mama also plays a part in her appetite. I am 6 months pregnant and this is what my ob/gyn tells me. She probably had a soup or a sald along with her entree which isn't a big deal. Regardless her bf was wrong for trying to embarass her like that. And kudos to the bf mother for stepping in and trying not make her feel bad.

Doesn't sound like he's mature enough to be a father. That's the kind of behavior I would expect from a high school boyfriend.

So he gets to eat steak and you're stuck with a salad, what, because you're a woman? **** that noise.
