Today, I was getting my first tattoo done. My parents told me it was a bad idea. My friends' parents told me it was a bad idea. I told them that people get tattoos done all the time and nothing goes wrong. 50 min into the tattoo on my back, the artist says "Oh shit, shit, shit. We can fix this." FML

thats_not_good tells us more.

The tattoo is on my shoulder blade, and it's a Celtic knot that I drew up myself. The artist was filling in the shading in the knot after finishing the outline when he started filling in an area on the wrong side of the line. He ended up fixing it so the design came out symmetrical, and it looks really good. No regrets and no worries.

Yeah, bad idea... sounds like if you try it again you should do a little research to figure out the best tattoo parlor in your area...

I love while I read the comments on this one, no one who said that tattoos are a bad idea seem to elaborate on WHY they are a bad idea.

because they have a certain social stigma attached to them. You are automatically being placed into a category of gansters, thugs, stripperrs and so on.

@ #156 - Well, I have a tattoo on my left arm (and plan on getting a few more, like the one in my profile pic), but I've never in my life been categorized as a gang member, thug, stripper or drug dealer. Those are just stereotypes that you have apparently chose to perpetuate. You are an idiot.

wow aren't you just living in the fourties

Well, no that it is illustrated, we can see he is getting a tramp-stamp that says unicorn power. Not sure what kinda category that puts you into, but I'm pretty sure it is a bad idea to advertise that one.

your parents tried to tell you bro. they're actually smarter than you think

did it at least turn out ok??

I personally never comment on any of these, I am just a browser, I created an account for this particular post. Having tattoos, not gang signs, nor do I strip, I find myself disagreeing with many people's opinions, (that's you #156), I believe that many in this generation have come to understand that tattoos are an art, that's about as simple as you can get. Unfortunately, there are those who still believe that having work done automatically puts you in a category of a criminal, or perhaps an exotic dancer. This is not so. Tattoos have come a long way from those days, and what I ask of people with their opinions is to remember that this is my skin, my right, open your mind, and stop categorizing. We're all individuals. OP, I will have to agree with others, check your artists out. Or, look on the bright side, there's always a cover-up to look forward to.
