thats_not_good tells us more.
The tattoo is on my shoulder blade, and it's a Celtic knot that I drew up myself. The artist was filling in the shading in the knot after finishing the outline when he started filling in an area on the wrong side of the line. He ended up fixing it so the design came out symmetrical, and it looks really good. No regrets and no worries.

the only way you would deserve whatever happened to you is if you didn't bother to research this particular tattoo parlor first. otherwise, all of those saying OP desreved it is only saying it BECAUSE of the unfortunate situation at hand.
What was the tattoo of? If it was huge then YDI, thats like asking for something to go wrong
getting a tattoo isnt a bad idea. getting a tattoo at a place you havent thoroughly investigated/had recommendations for is a bad idea. i hope he did manage to fix it! no one i've ever known or myself has ever had a problem like that. i agree with #8, doing your research & being patient is soo important to tattoos.
(Insert some variation of a "How is this a FYL" of "This isn't real because..." or "Well you should have..." comment here)
So... I want a tattoo when I get older. Maybe I shouldn't without someone with me. Thanks for the heads up! And he SAID he could fix it. Maybe he can make it look like a unicorn somehow. Listen to #8 and #13. ;D
Number 7 is funny, and right.

Yeah, bad idea... sounds like if you try it again you should do a little research to figure out the best tattoo parlor in your area...
