That's funny; yet very embarrassing for you and the guy. Kudos to your Dad for looking out for you, but your boy needs to learn how to take a joke. I must admit though, my Dad and I set our shotguns next to the front door when my sister's first boyfriend was coming up to visit. We had agreed to sneak them away if we ended up liking him. Dad put his away right before dinner. I snuck a couple shells next to mine. He then sees my shotgun and starts going on about how he's a pacifist and thinks the military is a pool of ruthless murderers. Then my Dad points out that he serves in the military and that I'm in ROTC. Dad got over it; my pile of shells got larger. Three weeks later, the guy is getting very promiscuous, public messages (with rather explicit pictures) from two girls. He swore up and down they were just friends. Two weeks after that, he tells my sister he was breaking up with her because he had proposed to one of the ***** mentioned above. This was after his week long vacation at her house...unchaperoned(sp?). My point is this: it's a joke that tells the males in a family what type of person their daughter/sister is dating. If he's good humored, he'll go along with it. If he's a wimp, there won't be a second date. If he's a douche, he'll call your Dad/brother all sorts of awful names to try and make himself look bigger.
