Today, I was getting ready to perform a speech in anthropology on the globalization of public transportation and how it brings cultures together. On the bus ride there, the girls behind me were discussing ways to hide their track marks after injecting. FML

Anthropology is the study of human evolution, biologically and culturally...so this girl wants to give a speech about how buses and such help bring people of all cultures and lifestyles together. On a public bus, on the way to her class, two heroin addicts are discussing hiding their vein scars. Talk about mixing cultures. If you don't get it now, then fyl.

I bet that poked a few holes in your logic.

so there was definitely a bringing of the cultures together in public transport. if you want the tourist version, travel by plane, not by bus.

I'm all for the globalization of public transportation, but you meet some of the wierdest people on Earth during bus rides. My personal favourite is the guy who eats nothing but gas inducing food such as burritos, McDonalds, eggs, or KFC the entire trip, and then does not even hesitate to "share the wealth" with everyone on board.

As an Anthropology major, this FML tickles my funny bone. But its nowhere near as funny as watching the YouTube generation here scratching their heads trying to figure out WTF the OP is talking about. Don't worry about it, kids. Go back to your text messages and tumbling scholastic standards.

I might get it. Maybe. You have to admit, hearing people talk about hard drugs on buses is pretty depressing.

...werent there only about 2 people who didnt get it?

I'm part of that "youtube generation" and I understand this -__-

well written! but along with #40, i'm part of the "YouTube generation" and after reading the FML carefully and going threw a few comments, i understand it. :)

I'd think not fully understanding the drug jargon would be a good thing.

...His desperate attempt to assert his superiority on "fmylife.com" made me wonder why commenter #21 needs to validate himself in such a pathetic way. But he probably wont read this, since he is on his way to an elementary school to brag to the 5th graders about how he studied anthropology that one time at community college.

This is somewhat insulting. I'm barely 19 and I took cultural anthropology my second semester in college. It had to be one of the best classes I ever took and understood everything quite well. Stop bragging and yapping about what you know and start trying to make a difference. It is ppl like you that make us wonder why different generations and cultures can't get along at times or agree on certain facts. Unfortunate event to have heard all that OP but go on, I'm sure you'll ace that speech ;)

I find that very stereotypical considering I am part of that generation and I understood it completely.

Glad to see somebody on the side of the bellcurve with a future!

Yep, great class for an elective, but a major? I predict teacher, or sales after.

Okay, so you're saying that just because I didn't understand what Anthropology was, I am a dumbass text-addicted teen? Wow, talk about stereotyping. Firstly, I am one of the smartest in my class. I got 100% on my last math test, which was pretty easy for me, and all my teachers think I'm great.

Secondly, I barely ever text ANYONE, and that's not because I don't have the money, ehich I definantly do. So stick your holier-than-thou opinions up your ******* ass, because to be honest, I don't give a shit.

Lol yeah dude was a stuck up prick. Asking questions doesn't make you dumb, being afraid to ask questions does.

Irony is a self-proclaimed anthropology major generalizing an entire generation of people.

98, I love you for catching that. 21, grow up.

The only part I didn't understand was what "track marks" meant, but it was quickly remedied after researching Urban Dictionary.

I think drugs bring people together a lot faster!

Public transportation is like driving the trailer court around town.

Any junky with a lack of self respect knows to inject it into the webbing of the toes. On the other hand however drugs in a very messed up way bring people together and public transit is a common place for such a gathering or discussion.

Maybe, just maybe OP, the conversation would've sidetracked to something like this: "I don't think make-up will cover it up, what do you think?" "To hell with what I think, don't you think the Korean culture is off the hook?" "Oh yes. As well as the Japanese culture. Let's ponder about this for a while..."
