Today, I was going 73 in a 55 on a country road when an oncoming cop passed me. He pulled a U turn. I turned off the main road and took random turns. I got lost, was 30 minutes late to work, and the cop still found me and gave me two tickets. I had to ask him for directions. FML

Yeah you did the right thing, too bad you got caught though. I did the same thing today coming out of school and a cop passed me and i was doing about 20 over. Last time this happened to me i just kept driving and got pulled over and the cop was a bitch to me. Today I turned left instead of my usual right and the cop went the other way..so I got off. FYL

What you do is slow down to 60 (so it's believable), and pull over immediately when he sees you. Then when he walks up to the car, be polite and say "hello officer, I understand I was going 5 over the speed limit once you turned around, and I'm sorry, but does that really usually warrant a ticket?" Then if he says that you were going faster, you just innocently and steadfastly deny it. He has no way of proving it, and even if he said he radar'd it, he would be lying. He knows he would lose in court, and you can tell him "I respect you, officer, but if I got a ticket for 5 over, I would have to appeal it; I've always been a very responsible driver, sir. And since I know I wasn't going faster than 60, may I inquire as to if you have proof you radar'd me going faster, or at least your word?" He will know that he has no chance in court, and he will issue you a warning and then drive off to get his next victim. As to you: That only works if you have a REALLY fast car, and you are a REALLY good driver, and it is a crowded place with lots of turns.

When I read "73 in a 55" I hit YDI and have absolutely no sympathy for you. I hope they're VERY expensive tickets.
