Today, I was going 73 in a 55 on a country road when an oncoming cop passed me. He pulled a U turn. I turned off the main road and took random turns. I got lost, was 30 minutes late to work, and the cop still found me and gave me two tickets. I had to ask him for directions. FML

All you idiots that think that going over the speed limit is unsafe, hands down, are stupid morons. I have lived in 10 different states (My Dad's in the military, and I am about to move to the 11th for my new job), and I have never been on a road where it's not safe to go at least 10 over the speed limit, as long as you are paying good attention to driving, and not f**king around on your phone or something. I usually go 15 over as a rule, unless if its raining hard or snowing, or there is something else making it less safe. Those speed limits were created either due to reasons unrelated to safety (such as the aforementioned gas mileage), or because of idiots that don't pay attention to their driving and aren't safe even if they're going 10 MPH.

If anyone thinks he doesn't deserve this your probably one of the most naive people i've ever met. First of layoff the transporter movies, cops, fast & furious, etc. and just pay the f***ing ticket ya' coward.

Whoever thinks that cops can't check your speed limit from the other side is ignorant.

I have ran from the cops before one time I got caught one time I didn't. The one time I got caught I got chewed out and ticketed. One time a cop was passing me and I was speeding I saw him turn around so I pulled over and waited for him. Once again I got chewed out for speeding, being out too late, my registration not being on my windshield and my tinted windows I could be ticketed for all of it he let me go.

Who ever thinks that speeding causes more accidents is stupid. Statistically, when the speed limits were lowered, there were a great deal more accidents. There were just a great deal (percentage wise) fewer fatal accidents. And statistically, if there are more accidents, and an equal number (numerically) are fatal, then percentage based estimates drop. Lowering speed limits is not the answer. Making licenses harder to acquire, and ticketing people for bad driving is the way to get the job done. Stop people's distractions. Similarly, when speeds were increased in studies, the number of accidents actually DECREASED. The reasoning behind this is that at higher speeds you tend to pay better attention to the road. So again, the way to be safe on the road is to eliminate distractions such as cellular phone use, eating while driving, and reading while driving (seriously. It happens). As for this person: I call shenanigans. A cop (under the assumption we're in the US) can't follow you through random turns unless his lights were on. In that case, you would have gotten a lot more than two tickets for running and speeding. All in all: If this is a true story, you totally deserved being late to work. As far as the speeding ticket... the law is posted. Even if it's a stupid law. Your fault. -An Engineer and Ramblin' Wreck.

Hey i believe the reason less accidents happen with faster driving is the adrenaline :) makes you think faster

Don't forget to buckle your seatbelt for safety and remember, pedestrians are 500 points! :) cops.....10,000 haha

#2 exactly! you know police aren't dumb donut eating idiots that are easily fooled. They are trained professionals who catch stupid ppl like you for a living. YDI for speeding so excessively, and another YDI for trying to get away with it.
