Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend of 3 years. I got reservations for a romantic dinner, and at the end, fireworks would spell out my proposal. The whole thing had taken weeks to plan out and had cost me a lot of money. She proposed to me at a subway station first. FML

Today, I took my girlfriend of nearly 2 years out to dinner so I could propose. When the waiter brought the check, I caused a bit of a scene to get everyone's attention. When I got on my knee and proposed, she said no and asked if I could hurry up and pay, because she was embarrassed. FML

Today, I gathered both mine and my girlfriend's families secretly to a restaurant. I paid the restaurant to play romantic music, and paid for the best table available. As soon as we finished our meal, our families gathered around and I proposed. She laughed and said no way. FML

I would have told her I'd give her my answer after dinner, then after the fireworks, explained that I had planned it all out beforehand and wanted her to see it and not let the work spent preparing it go to waste.

Well, what a sticky situation. I mean, any girl would be hurt, or even mad, if he said anything but yes. Obviously she'd understand after your romantic proposal later, but good luck trying to get her to wait until then. Sorry it didn't go as planned =( It's real sweet.
