What was the problem with your sister practicing safe sex? If your parents didnt know about the pills beforehand it means she went out of her way to get a prescription with no parental consent at that age, so I have even more respect for her being so responsible. When I was that age I actually started birth control because I had insanely irregular periods, which turned out to be PCOS the pills made the cyst less frequent and bareable. Chances are your sister is taking the pills for contraception but she might be taking them for a gynecological problem which is none of your damn business and which makes you even more of an asshole. I bet you didnt even confront your sister with your worries about her safety/health but just told to get her in trouble because you're selfish and miserable. You deserve it for being a tattle tale and an asshole expecting her to get in trouble. Its been several years since they caught you,which explains why your parents have a more relaxed attitude towards sex now, things change you cant expect your parents to stay static. I hope she gets a lock on her door to keep you from being nosey and spiteful

Don't know how many of you commentators really get it but sounds like many families where I dated either the "favored" or unfavored sibling. Sounds like your sister is the favored sibling and knows how to manipulate the "parental" figures. First stop whining and complaining. It's not only disruptive but makes you look unmanly (disrespect to less than masculine male figures is rife in American households). Next is the disruptive/agitating/trouble creating child is treated as an outcast/instigator. In other words if your parents see you as the source of the problems wather you create them or bring these problems into the light of their otherwise clueless life is immaterial. the problems come to their attention when your present. Eliminate the frequency of this happening and you'll be on the road to not being the "troublemaker" in the family. This goes not only for the op but for other members as well. My advice op is to be more discrete and stop trying to create justice/force your family to see your side of things. And if your really worried about your sister fooling around you should just have taken the prescription with her name on it and placed it in the bathroom medicine cabinet. Deny ever placing it there til you old and married with kids of your own. That way your not the source of the problem. Now learn to not be the center of disterbences in your family and you'll slowly get the grudging respect of your parents...

I think it was right of OP to tell his parents. Birth control could be used to regulate periods and help cramps and other various benefits, but it obviously is possible she was having sex. And if she was having sex at that young her parents should know. And for those of you ready to call me close minded, let it be known I am a non virgin not too much older than her. If my sister found something like that, she would DEFENITLY go straight to my parents and I would do the same thing if I found out she had it. Sometimes being a snitch is good. Like what if OP's sis was having sex and maybe she forgot to take a pill and she got pregnant? Personally I don't find any reason this was truly OP's fault. FYL
