Today, I was invited to a birthday dinner at a restaurant. As I was leaving, I get a text from the birthday girl's boyfriend saying that it was cancelled. Hungry, I decided to go to that particular restaurant anyway. Turns out the party wasn't cancelled. Half the party just didn't want me there. FML

Today, it was my best friend's birthday party. Her boyfriend and I agreed to organize a dinner date to surprise her and celebrate. They celebrated, but forgot me until they arrived at the restaurant and saw the dinner reservation under my name. FML

Today, a close friend told me she had no plans for her birthday. I found out she was lying when I had to serve her and nine other mutual friends dinner at the restaurant I work at. I don't know what's worse, the fact that I wasn't invited or that none of them even remembered that I worked there. FML

Today, it was my 18th birthday and I was told I couldn't get the night off work because a party of 34 had booked into the restaurant. It turned out my family had come in to 'celebrate' by making me wait on them. They were a nightmare, thought it was hilarious to be difficult, and didn't tip. FML

Today, I was invited to a party. Since I rarely get invited to any, I was super pumped. Both my parents work late, so I texted a couple of people to see if I could catch a ride. It turned out everyone's cars were full. I ended up missing one of the only parties I've ever been invited to. FML

This is just a guess but by "half the party" im guessing he meant it was just the birthday girl and her boyfriend. And the BF didn't want him there. But just a guess.

ha, i don't think that just because someone is disliked it necessarily means that they suck/deserve it...there are so many other reasons for dislike, misunderstanding, jealousy, closed-mindedness, conflicting belief systems...the list goes on. repealing an invitation is one of the douchiest things someone can do, IMO. and your friend's a pussy for giving in to the other party guests' opinion, it's her f-ing birthday for christsakes.

What I most likely would have done is go join the party anyway, without mentioning the text and let everyone else get their faux-friendliness out of the way, then pretend to receive the text well after all this has gone on, so that it is obviously a lie. See how many people are embarrassed and/or ashamed.
