Today, I was let down for a movie date. As I'd already paid for the tickets, I got my narcoleptic sister to come and sit next to me while she slept, so it didn't look like I came on my own. FML

Or like going on a first date with someone and they get an "emergency text" from their boss, asking them to come into work and they leave 30 minutes into the movie, never to be heard from ever again. Yeah, that happened to me. :/ now I can't watch the Expendables without thinking of that, damnit.

I still don't understand how people are so insecure and self-centered that they A) feel weird about going to a movie alone, when you're not supposed to talk or socially interact while watching a movie anyway and then B ) actually think others in the audience give a crap about them being there alone. YDI.

What's wrong with a movie alone? I'd get it maybe if you just didn't want to be alone because you're feeling a bit down, but getting your sister just so other people, that you don't even know, didn't think you went alone is kind of lame. I love going to movies alone personally, I can hide from everyone for an hour or two. It's very relaxing.
