Today, I was playing my bass clarinet around the house. I asked my dad if he would be at my concert on December 16th. His response was, "No, I'm working that day." My dad is a plumber, and gets called to work completely at random; he has no schedule. FML

Time to crack that bass out and practice in the middle of the night. He might learn to appreciate it then.

cut him some slack. he says he's a plumber but when bowser comes and kidnaps princess peach. he has to go recuse her. tell your uncle he never does anything anyways but pretend to do something.

if he gets called to work at random, he can't commit to a date over a month away. what if he said he could go but got called to work and didn't show up at the concert. then you would feel even worse

If that's what he meant he didn't say it in a very good way....

some parents don't appreciate their kids talents..I'm sorry, but he will eventually. you just have to keep playin like it doesn't matter; he'll learn to appreciate it one day

yeah he has a point, who wants to hear you play that shit?

If you practice in the house he's probably sick of it and I know I would be. Plus your probably in middle school and not very good. >_<

Why middle school? There are way more people in band durring high school.

LOL I am in middle school, and yeah i do suck at it.... but it was my first time playing it in the house... so yeah o.o

you can't complain about it if you aren't any good

Their instrumentation level is not the matter. What matters is their Parent's willingness to support them in something they love to do.

If you knew his schedule was at random why bother asking, it's not like he knows his schedule ahead of time...
