My mother has been a Deputy Sheriff for years and I've done a number of "Ride-A-Longs" with road deputies and NYS Troopers. One thing I learned is that by the time a speeder has seen the patrol car, the officer has already learns your speed almost 100% of the time. in other words, if you see a patroller, chances are incredibly high that he/she has already clocked you.
