Today, I was talking to a guy I met online and have known for 4 years. I've fallen in love with him twice, one of those times being currently. He was supposed to visit this summer. I got an email from him saying he's really a 17 year old girl from Chesterfield, MO. FML

Which means he's a married 48 year old man from New Jersey - or some dude you know from work.

How can you fall in love with someone without ever having met them, seen them, or talked to them in person? These days you can't trust people online...well you never could, now we just (should) know better. YDI

Kids these days and their internet 'love' in my opinion you can't even say you fell in love, because you've never even ******* met the person... but hey, whatever floats your boat I guess

Quelle coincidence, I'm from very near that town, lol... ...What's her email? =P lol

I'm near there too lol =P good mall(:

how did you not get a pic? or talk on the phone? anything over the 4 years you were in love with this guy? i believe in internet love, but be real. get pics and talk on the phone before you realize if 'he' is a 'he' at all. It's a crap situation to be in, but really should have gotten all your info.

She probably did get a photograph, a photograph that was stolen off google images or something. It's quite easy nowadays to fool people that way.

So the lesson here, video call regularly. it's possible to fake that shit a little bit but putt much impossible for any real amount of time

people like you are the reason shows like "to catch a predator" exist.

I'm not going to judge whether or not you're in love...that's pretty personal. In the future, you might consider meeting them in person or at least do a video chat.

Weird. Usually it's guys who pretend to be girls. But there is still a chance for some HLA ;)
