Here's an idea...start finding people to fall in love with in REAL life...OFF the damn computer
#4-um that is why it's the internet? people take the internet so seriously sometimes. agreed with #226 there is a reason people find comfort and "fall in love" online...it's because you can hide your deficiencies, and so can they.
Same thing happened to me, and I did talk on the phone and get pictures. The girl that lied to me even sounded like a guy. We talked for 2 years before another guy got pissed bc of our fake relationship and he made my mom call the cops. But me and the girl are still friends I just laugh about the whole thing.( the other guy is my now boyfriend)
Missouri FTW!
#196 suck it you're probably from Kansas.
Yay #98! I'm happy for you =) For the people saying it's not possible to fall in love over the internet, I too have evidence to the contrary. I met a guy online, realised I loved him a few months later and it was a couple of months more after that before we both had webcams so we could videochat, but we exchanged 'I love you's the first time we heard each other's voice. Since then we've spent time together in person, but that was about 9 months into the relationship. Next month we will have hit a year and a half together =) So, it does happen. And I think there are definite benefits to exploring so much of a person's mind and thoughts before you even get to the more physical parts.
Oh, and in regards to the 'find people in REAL life to fall in love with': I've been in other relationships, and been interested in other people, but when I met this guy.. I didn't want to fall in love over the internet, who the hell WOULD choose what is clearly a crappier option, because of the difficulties it brings? But I couldn't help it. Sometimes the person who's right for you isn't the one right next to you.
@232, lilyweave sound's like you've had lots of time with this guy. i'm happy for you. you acutally found someone legit.

Today, somebody lied to me over the internet. FML.
Which means he's a married 48 year old man from New Jersey - or some dude you know from work.
