Today, I was talking to a guy I met online and have known for 4 years. I've fallen in love with him twice, one of those times being currently. He was supposed to visit this summer. I got an email from him saying he's really a 17 year old girl from Chesterfield, MO. FML

Which means he's a married 48 year old man from New Jersey - or some dude you know from work.

Damn 4 years, and you guys never web chatted or sent pictures of eachother holding up signs or something to indicated the person you were talk to was really them? Sorry, but that's totally your fault on two levels: 1) KNOW who you're talking to. 2) Don't meet people online.

Yeah you should have gotten a picutre but I still think you guys are being harsh I can see how this could happen falling in love like that because its a girl pretending to be a guy so it would sound like a guy who would be in touch and understand all the needs and wants of a women like I could see him/her being like "yeah I'd love to cook for you one day" or something like that

It's probably a guy backing away! Did you confess your undying love to him? Coz seriously you can't fall in love like that. Maybe he agrees, it's just too suffocating! YDI. Well whatever it is, meet people the old fashioned way! You can't be so naive with the internet!

I agree with #29 you wouldn't notice you were talking to a nine year old? Someone who started a prank at 9 would keep it going for four years... Over the course of four years there would never be a phone conversation? This really doesn't seem legit at all.

Stop being 14 years old, and this falling in love over the internet problem tends to go away.

Sorry misread the age... but still a thirteen year old keeping it up for that long is entirely unrealistic.

i was thinking the same thing.

What was their eHarmony handle? Sounds kinky.
