Today, I was trying on wedding dresses and didn't realise I had started my period. I managed to ruin 6 dresses before I noticed. The company wants me to pay for them. I can't afford it. FML

unless it was running out of you like a faucet or you had been sitting down in each dress I really doubt this is true.

doubtful, the person assisting you would of noticed nearly immediately. and you've never heard of underwear? this just seems made up

it is very hard to get in and out of a typical wedding dress. it takes ages and you need someone helping you. they would have noticed unless the blood was under loads of layers or something. I would have imagined they would have insured the dresses.for something like this and could get the money from insurance. it doesn't sound fair that you have to pay for it

How is it not fair? They’re the one that who ruined the dresses, why should they not have to pay? Especially when you’re so clueless that you went through 6 before noticing

Hi, I'm a male commenter and I know more about periods than any woman! But fear not, I will explain it to you girls :) Hi, I'm a female commenter and my period experience is everybodies experience!

I'm calling fake and not because "periods don't work that way" but because gravity doesn't work that way. These are dresses, there's no fabric between the inner thighs/legs to stain and period blood isn't going to magically flow up one's back or front. The only way this could have happened (assuming sudden heavy flow and oblivious individual) is if she sat or lay down in each dress and no respectable shop is going to let you sit on the dirty floor in an expensive gown. Finally, and maybe this supposed shop is different, but normally someone helps you try on dresses (or just tries to sell you one by complimenting you) and if for some reason there was no attendant it's abnormal for someone to go wedding dress shopping alone meaning even if OP didn't notice someone else should have long before dress #6.

I'm more concerned about your hygiene if you really don't notice that sort of thing.

If your period 'suddenly started' it wouldn't be heavy enough to spray its way through numerous dresses unnoticed surely Just not buying it

If FML has taught me anything it’s that if you have a uterus and plan to wear or try on anything white you need to have at least a liner on every damn time

Honey, nearly every woman knows when shes 1. getting her period 2. has her period 3. or something just isn't right down there. And the fact that you noticed after trying on six as opposed to one... makes it hard to believe. Did you not have a pad or tampon in your purse?
