Today, I was turned down from the dream job that I was promised two years ago, once my chemo and radiation therapy was finished. His excuse? He never actually expected me to survive. FML

Today, after enduring chemo, radiation treatments and several surgeries in order to beat cancer, being immunocompromised and catching Covid, I haven’t been able to work for years. Despite all that, I still get told I’m lazy and need to "just go get a job" when I try to get social security. FML

Today, I had to quit my dream job, due to an injury I received at work over two months ago not fully healing. Not only do I really need the money, I’ll never find something I love doing so much, or a better group of coworkers. FML

Long time coming

Today, I got turned down for my dream job. Why? Because my ex phoned the company and told them how bad I would be for the job. He phoned me and said, "Now you know how it feels to be turned down." We dated for 2 weeks, 11 years ago. I'm now married and haven't spoken to him since we broke up, so I guess he's been stalking me. FML

Today, after being diagnosed with breast cancer, enduring months of tortuous chemo, having painful radiation treatments and having had my tubes tied, I realized I’ve become the butt of an incredibly cruel cosmic joke. I got pregnant from the one-night stand I had to celebrate beating cancer. FML

Today, after three interviews, I accepted an offer for my dream job and submitted my notice. The company called me to say they couldn't contact my referees and have now withdrawn the offer. I'm now officially unemployed. FML

Today, I lost my dream job after a week, after being told, "When I hired you, I wasn't honest. I wasn't looking to hire an examiner, I wanted someone to replace me so I can retire in a year. I don't have time to train you for that." FML

No one considers he may be autistic and his initial promise was supposed to be normal kindness and false promises that everyone makes daily? And he just didn't know that his present truth would be so rude? Thinking someone with bad cancer and undergoing chemotherapy might die is what everyone likely thought. It's just mean to say out loud.

Good lord, my arsehole-o-meter went completely off the scale after reading this FML, in fact I think this boss has broken it... If there is no one else in the company you can bring this to, I would definitely mention this to the local newspaper.. this person (and I use that term very loosely) does not deserve to be anyone's boss.

I went through nearly the same thing but was let go do to the amount of time I had to miss. long story short, I'm fine now, the bosses got fired for something else and the new bosses called me to come back. You kicked cancers ass, you can certainly take on that ass hole of a boss. Best of luck op, I have no doubt you will get the dream job, even if it is with another company.
