Today, I was waitering at the restaurant that I work at when I collected a credit card bill that was worth $120 and a big zero on the tip line. Angered, I turned to a co-worker and said "I knew this asshole wasn't going to tip me." The guy was standing right behind me with $30 in his hand. FML

That was stupid. Plenty of people pay tips with cash instead, myself included.

I hope he threw the money in your face. Ha, no I don't. I hope he gave the money to your co-worker.

you shouldnt always expect tips people give you tips if you deserve it. By the sounds of it you were a jerk

to be blunt, you're the asshole. you know he could have left with that over 20% tip, right?

That's rude. You don't deserve a tip

You aren't entitled to a tip. Like, EVER. And that's life. Hope you got nothing that day and learned a lesson.

I feel sorry for the other guy :( you jerk

Thats what people get for expecting a tip. Tips are stupid anyway, we pay high prices and expect the service anyway so why should we pay anymore than that?

Exactly. The tip system is meant to encourage waiters to be friendly and helpful, but is not required in any way at all. The OP made a complete ass of himself, and deserves nothing.

That really sucks for you. I don't live in America, but from my understanding waitresses and waiters get minimal wage and rely on tips. You shouldn't have said that until he had paid. On one hand, sorry OP. On the other, you deserve it for being so open with your criticism.

As someone who used to work in the restaurant business, I understand your frustration. Don't judge so quickly though. Personally, I prefer to leave a tip in cash instead of on my card.
