Yeah, fair enough, OR 1). If I didn't run after the parcel it would have been sent back to the depot (in Bristol!) And would have gone back to America after 1day there! I would have had to pay extortionate posting for it to come back again! 2). Was being picked up at 8 - so yes I absolutely did have to have a shower! 3). If you'd been waiting all day getting restless would you not panic, given that you wouldn't expect out of a 13 hour slot - the parcel comes during the three minute shower you need?! And yes, it is my own stupidity - that's why it's funny, that I clearly have absolutely no common sense...hence the FML! To be honest I'd join FML too if all I had time to do with my day was leave criticisms on other people's jokes. :)

you already waited so long. you couldn't hold off another 30 minutes? WTF?
You knew the delivery would be before 8pm. You waited until 7:30pm You knew the delivery would be sometime in the next 30 minutes. But you decided you HAD to take a shower then? We'll add you to the list of "stupid people who think they have a reason to post an FML but they create their own problems". It's a pretty big list.
i agree, people are just so dumb
well i see all of these people asking why you couldn't wait 30 more minutes to take shower, but my question is this: if you knew that they were coming between 9am and 8pm, why didn't you go ahead and take your "desperately-needed" 3-minute shower BEFORE they were expected to come? then you wouldn't have had to have gone all day without a shower. which is gross.
Sounds like you didn't plan your day accordingly.
If you waited all day to take that shower, you could have stood to wait another half hour. I'm sure the delivery guy wouldn't have cared at all. You can really go a few days without a shower before people will be able to smell you from a normal distance (i.e. unless you were expecting this guy to come in close for a sniff, he wouldn't have realized). And even if he did, why would you care? It's someone you don't know and will probably never see again.
YDI For going in the showerr
So delivery men suck in the UK too? Here they knock once, and without even waiting to see if someone comes to the door just leave.
I created an account just to comment on this. I have worked as a delivery driver. If you are EXPECTING a delivery you wait for it!!! You do not hop in the shower. You do not go to the store to grab something "real quick." YDI! I hate people like you!
Your feelings are reciprocated by the majority of people who have to wait some totally unreasonable amount of time to complete a 10 second transaction. You'll be there between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.? Seriously? Liker people don't have better things to do than wait for the delivery man.
Yeahhh...and of course it is totally unreasonable to actually WAIT a minute until someone answers....or to give it to the neighbours...or just to write one of these little notes that you've been there... Do your job and stop complaining...
And why would you go for your shower at 7:30? If youre expecting a delivery, between 9am-8pm (which is a ridiculous window, the most Ive seen is an 8hour window) and its 7:30 and there hasnt been a delivery yet....why? Why go for a shower?
Yeah, y'know what? No. She already wasted her entire day sitting around waiting and probably thought that it wasn't going to come that day. Would it still be a YDI because she was in the bathroom taking a dump instead? Deliver the packages and stop whining because omg someone took two seconds longer to answer the door than you liiiiiiked.
Although I agree that if a package is supposed to be delivered during a certain time, the person should wait for the package. But also, maybe the drivers should wait more than 10 sec after ringing the doorbell before hightailing it out of there. I literally have to run to get to the speaker in time to let them know I'm coming down (live in an apt) and if I don't run, they leave and don't even wait. I've had it happen.
I can understand people being frustrated about the "open window" delivery time, but the thing is that most delivery drivers (if they are doing their jobs correctly) have no control over what time the packages get there. You have a list of things to deliver and you get to the next item as soon as you possibly can. So it is not the delivery driver's fault, but when people do stuff like this it leads to other deliveries being late. It's frustrating!

that really sucks, but couldn't you have waited those last 30 minutes too?
Don't they usually leave it in front of your door? Even if you need to sign for it, they'll usually leave one of those notes saying you need to go pick it up, or that they'll be back the next day to deliver it again.
