Today, I was walking down the street with my friend, one I walk down every day, and I saw a really cute guy nearby. I felt like I looked better than usual, so I turned my head to offer a smile, and walked right into a pole. The impact was strong enough to send me falling to the floor. FML

... so if you walk down this street everyday, why didn't you know about the pole?

If he didn't immediatly offer help while laughing a little, you probably shouldn't bother anyways.

#8 posted a visual of a facepalm. Look closely, you'll see it.

#25, just what I was going to say. was it tiled or carpeted?

That's made of win. It's one of the biggest compliments you could have paid him at that moment. Also gave him the perfect excuse to approach you. YDI :P

Fact: When you're outside, the "floor" isn't a floor at all! It's actually called the ground, pavement, etc...

How is it possible to slam into a pole, then fall to the ground?!?! Dumbass

At least he noticed you! :D It's a hilarious start to a beautiful relationship. Why are so many people pointing out the difference between 'floor' and 'ground'? If your inside on the floor, and you fall, you can say " I fell on the floor." or "I hit the ground." But, if you're outside on the ground and you fall, you can't say, "I fell on the ground."?!?!? Doesn't that seem a little strange? Then again, English is a very strange language. Did I just confuse everybody further?
