ok seriously, howvthe **** can u say someone deserves that? that pisses me the **** off. #killyourself
the doctors say it's good to have one beer or one glass of wine a day while your pregnant. it thins your blood.
Which would be the most amazing idea if it didn't increase the chance of you having a stroke... Drinking plenty of water and eating right should be enough to keep your blood plenty thin. The general consensus is no more than 2 units twice a week. So one glass of wine a day is way too much!
maybe she only drank half of it which wouldnt be as bad as people are making it sound. half a glass of wine is equal to half a beer. according to TAM classes 1 shot is equal to 1 beer to 1 glass of wine. and docs say its fine to half a glass of wine a day for pregnant women. now if she was smokin thats another story.
There's actually no evidence that a small amount of alcohol does any harm to an unborn baby. The advice to avoid it all together is because people don't stick to the safe limits. And my mum's generation were advised to drink in moderation - my brothers and I not only grew up to be healthy, but we're all scientists. I'm sure you're fine.
Haha I'm sorry OP..you should call her out on it and maybe ask her about it. and to add to the pot vs. beer convo Beer can give you a higher risk of miscarriages and stillbirth but pot can cause a higher risk of leukemia for your baby and the babies may have problems with short-term memory, concentration, problem-solving, and judgement....therefore, BOTH are bad during pregnancy so don't even have this argument..obviously people who say weed doesn't effect a baby is obviously experiencing the part of pot that ruins brains cells and makes you stupid.
Dozens of studies have compared the newborn babies of women who used marijuana during pregnancy with the babies of women who did not. Mainly, they have looked for differences in birth weight, birth length, head circumference, chest circumference, gestational age, neurological development, and physical abnormalities. Most of these studies, including the largest study to date with a sample of over twelve thousand women, have found no differences between babies exposed to marijuana prenatally and babies not exposed. Researchers have also examined older children for the effects of prenatal exposure to marijuana. A study of one-year-olds found no differences between marijuana-exposed and nonexposed babies on measures of health, temperament, personality, sleeping patterns, eating habits, psychomotor ability, physical development, or mental functioning. In two studies, one of three-year-olds, the other of four-year-olds, there was no effect of prenatal marijuana exposure on children’s overall IQ test scores. The study on non-lymphoblastic leukaemia found a dubious link at best to be honest. 204 children with the disease 10 of the mothers said they smoked weed 'at some point' in their pregnancy.. somewhat like having 'one or two beers' no? I totally agree that you shouldn't put chemicals of any kind into your body when you're pregnant but people will do it anyway. Alcohol has a proven link to prenatal damage, marijuana does not. I am not saying it's safe, no drug is safe!!! But by the information available weed is not as dangerous as alcohol.
Weed is not as dangerous as alcohol to children exposed in the womb*. Smoke is smoke, it can still cause breathing issues (unless it isn't being smoked, of course) and can/usually does cause one's attention span to decrease. Decreased attention span + driving =/= safe. I realize breathing problems are insignificant compared to the other issue, but it's still a problem nonetheless. You are right though; people will do what they want anyway. If they decide to drink while they're pregnant, the baby that comes out is the consequence of their choices and they need to live with that for life.
my mum smoked and I'm top of my class
Smoking doesn't cause as much damage as drinking, though neither should be done during a pregnancy or around a child. Do you have breathing issues, like asthma?
My mum smoked when pregnant with me but not my brother.. Guess which one of us has asthma..
study's show if the mother had a drink or two a week then when the kid was in school they tested better. there was over 1000 mothers studied for this. it's now a proven fact.
Don't try to speak all intelligently about facts when your grammar sucks. Studies** performed better on tests* There were over**
Thomas can probably relate to this because his mom was a meth addict when she was pregnant with him.
I don't get how anyone can say that OP deserved this? they weren't even born and had no control of the situation. How can anyone deserve to have their mom drink alcohol when she's pregnant with them? Just mean.
