Today, I was watching the movie Frozen with my 8 year old daughter. I had seen it before, so I sung along with some of the songs. My daughter put a finger over my lips, said "Shhhhhhhhut the fuck up," then turned back to the TV, giggling. FML

"Who sings that?" "The girl from Frozen!" "Yeahhh, let's keep it that way."

I'm a cashier and saw a kid about 9 or 10 tell his dad "**** you" when he wouldn't give him a quarter for the quarter machine then stormed off...the sad part is, he got his quarter eventually. Don't be that type of parent OP, please

I hope you didn't let her get away with that.

I'm sorry op, but HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

And you just let it go? If thats was my daughter shed be punished! Kids shouldnt be swearing.

Of course they should! It's just words. Swearing is a wonderful way to add some colour to a language. My kids swear occasionally. They're very polite and have great manners, but they also have great vocabulary and swearing is a part of that. However, one thing I'm very meticulous about is that their swearing has to be creative. Just blurting out random curses doesn't add much. But the OP's daughter proved to be quite resourceful when she transformed a regular hushing sound with the rest of the sentence. Brilliant! I give her 10/10 for creativity!

I am 44 and got spanked when I misbehaved. I got a slap or two across my face because of my language and attitude. I learned to behave and show respect. And I am a better person for it. My boys are 20 & 17. They got their butts spanked if they misbehaved. And I used vinegar if they were mouthy (just the handle of a spoon dipped in and touched to their tongues). Both my boys are polite and respectful to others !! I hope OP had enough sense to discipline in SOME way so the daughter knows that is NOT acceptable !!

Pretty sure I'd be caught between slapping my child or laughing.....I understand those moments all too well. It's a shocker when those things come outta your kids mouths.

Please tell me you grounded her. No child should EVER be allowed to talk to their parent like that. It's disrespectful and parents who allow their children to do that allow their child to be assholes later.
