Juggalette1020 tells us more.
Umm. The only reason It happened because we were just starting 3rd shit at that IHOP And the only people who realized that we were open were the drunk people. So there's bound to be assholes. And I deserve it for my name? Ummm No.

I am curious what all of you "non-tippers" consider "excellent" service. I have been in the food industry dependent on tips and it totally sucks. There are too many cheap bastards out there and yes I did provide people with what I think most people would deem "excellent" service. Frankly, my opinion is if you don't want to tip take your food to go. EVERYONE knows you are supposed to tip if you sit down at a restaurant. I feel bad for the OP. Although the tip to not play leapfrogs with unicorns is good advice.
true on the food my boyfriend asked why I didn't tip which I responsed "why would I tip them for making the food I ordered? i'm not being served and they aren't delivering it" now we only tip if we have a waiter or delivery guy
If you eat in a country where the expectation of tipping effects the waitresses wages and the price of your food(they can charge less for the food if they pay the waitresses less) you tip unless it's bad service. No one expects you to tip if you don't have a waiter or waitress, but if you do you're being a dick if you don't tip someone who is doing their job, regardless of whether it's exceptionally or average.
I realize carry out can be tricky, but i worked carry out for a year. I would have 5 tables and have to take 10 minutes to take an order over the phone. My tables would need things in that 10 minutes. Then I would have to take 5 minutes to bag it,make sure everything is there/correct,get drinks and condiments. Then I would have to watch out for the car and take the food out,get the payment, make change/get a credit receipt and take it out. All of this would take time away from my tables. Probably resulting in some of them tipping me less because I wasn't hovering over then enough. So I would get tipped less because I did all the extra work of a Togo order that didn't even tip me?
don't know what you guys are all fighting about, as many wise crack addicted, baby swinging, tuna smelling black men once said: "don't hate the player, hate the game" nowhere else in the world are tips part of the base salary, and customers are in no way expected to leave one! from the summer jobs i had when is a teenager waiters earned atleast between 900€ - 1,2k€ (1,25k$ - 1,7k$), and thats excluding tips which are still around 100€ each.. Your crappy system ***** you guys over, the only cheap people you have a problem with are your employers, not your customers.
That sucks. But, YDI for saying "had wrote"
FYL for having to serve drunks. LMAO, I lol'd @ that pun, tip of the night. Tip stands for to insure promptness, right? If you ever see them at IHOP just remember...TIP. Really though, that sucks. I know waiters/waitresses can get paid less than minimum wage and depend on tips :(.
hahahahahahahahahahaha drunks
FYL for not getting a monetary tip but YLIA for the actual tip. I wonder how they learned that painful lesson the first time? *leap frogs over unicorn* *anal rape* "AAAAAHHHH!!! Unicorn horns are not lucky at all!"
If any of you don't tip, here is a reason to tip: the waiters take your order and bring you your food. You don't have to write it down, wait, then pick up your food and bring it back to the table yourself.
so the restaurant itself making 800% profit on the dishes they serve isn't enough? I have to put down a 20$ tip when I pay a 100$ meal because some dumb ass bitch managed to carry a plate 8.5 metres?
If you want to eat in a place that's staffed, the staff expect to be paid. If the country you're eating in practices paying waiting staff mostly by the tips, yeah, you do, or you can drag your own fat ass to some take-out drive-through and get your dinner yourself. Such an establishment would probably suit your attitude better at any rate.
It's pretty obvious this argument is going nowhere. Blame your shitty employers for using such a shitty system, not your customers. If it is such a goddamn requirement to tip, then it'd be a law. it is not, and so for you to expect me to part more money just because you happen to work for crappy employers, is wrong and cheeky.
I'm not American Fortune, and nor did I grow up in a country where tipping is expected, unlike you. But if I go to a country where it is, and the waiters depend on it, I tip because I'm not an asshole who expects others to wait on me for 20c regardless of who's responsible for the way their wages are assigned.
dear #61 if you don't want to pay for service, stay at home and make your own food and serve it to yourself or get takeout.
Well, make it yourself for less then! You sound like the dumb one. If you don't like the prices, don't eat there! That server can't control the prices and probably rarely eats there because they can't afford the food. I can't get over what a totally obnoxious and useless argument that it. The cost of the food which has nothing to do with how much the server makes is why you wouldn't tip?
We can blame the employer not the customers as much as we want. The employer isn't going to start paying out any more than the bare minimum they have to. It's not the law to be a decent human being, but shouldn't everyone still be one?
YDI for being a Juggalette. Damn those people are losers.

lmao that's soo true there horns might stab you >.< ouch
Second off. WTF dose it matter what my name is? Sorry I'm a fan of ICP. Wait...No I'm not sorry. I like them. I grew up around their music. So Get over it. And I didn't expect tips. But it's rather rude to leave something like that when I was overly nice, on time with everything, and everything came out right.
