I love that movie very much, however I did not cry I can totally see why you would. My friend bawled, sometimes it's totally acceptable.

It's ok, I heard it's a really emotional movie
I never cry at movies especially romantic ones but I wouldn't judge someone for crying. Better someone emotional than some hard ass who can't feel anything. That being said I'd never suggest something so intentionally sappy for a date, which is supposed to be fun!
People are affected by things differently. I read the book and saw the film, and while I enjoyed the book immensely, neither format made me cry. I went with my mom to see the movie though, and she bawled. If your girlfriend is someone worthwhile, she won't judge you for being emotionally affected to the point of tears.
