Today, I went out to a nice restaurant for my friend's birthday. I went to the bathroom and heard the woman in the other stall crying. She couldn't pull her underwear up over her obese, old-lady ass because her arms don't reach that far anymore. I was the only one there. I had no choice. FML

ugh, why do people let themselves go so much? I mean I used to weight 225 pounds, but I could still pull up my boxers. It's like they don't care about themselves.

for some people, it involves alot more than just being a lazy ass... thyroid, hormone, and metabolism comes into play too.

My metabolism is glacially slow, but I know that, so I don't eat more then my metabolism allows. I struggle with my weight but, I always keep it under control. Proud size 00

Even if it isn't medical everyone has their vice. Some gamble, drink, sleep around, spend too much money, work too much etc....we all try to comfort ourselves today in modern society with something or the other. Food is just one of the many. Im sure you have a vice that you wouldn't admit to.

Sweetie, I think you should talk to someone about your "weight problem". I'm not trying to sound condescending at all so please don't take this the wrong way! I think your concerns may be skewed though. You just mentioned struggling to control your weight because of a slow metabolism but then say you're a 00? I think you should talk to your health care provider. Please.

I'm still trying to figure out what the woman does when there's nobody around. Honestly, she couldn't go anywhere alone then I'd guess, because you'd have to face this problem every time you went to the bathroom. Even at home. I totally see your discomfort here, but at least you did the right thing instead of just walking out.

#29 I agree with you completely. It was nice of you to help the old lady but there is no need to call her such terrible things. Yes, she may have been really obese and yes it was a really terrible situation but you don't need to call her those things. You chose to help her, can't you just leave it at that? Yes, I KNOW it wasn't fun but you really, REALLY helped someone. I'm really glad you helped her but there is no need to call her those things and by doing so it severely diminishes the level of kindness you presented in the situation in my eyes.

I don't see why she can't call an obese person obese. It's like someone calling me a 'weak girl' and I'd be offended. Well no, I am weak and I am a girl. Just call people what they are. Also, if the FML didn't include a word like fat, obese or overweight, no one would get it. And no, overweight is not 'more nice'. It means less fat than obese - which the woman probably wasn't. I agree that there might be a lot of reasons like illnesses that would make this happen... but that would make it less embarrassing to ask someone to come with her to the toilet.

You did have a choice, and you chose the right one :) I'm glad there are people like you in the world, even if you complain about it after lol. That was very nice of you!!

honestly? its her fault that she's that big, next time just peace

You were nice, until you started bitching about doing it. So YDI, because you seem like a Jackass and a half.

I agree with #40, either do something nice and stfu or don't do it at all.
