Who jumps to such bold conclusions like that? If you were somebody else your brother would be in a lawsuit.
Ydi for having headphones in. Ydi for being cold. Ydi for having a brother. YDI YDI YDI YDI YDI BFUSBNCJKEMDSCFMFJHVASDFJGHDF!
I'm going to say YDI. I've seen lots of FML's like this one and it's because the OP's are on their smoke breaks. If they didn't smoke they wouldn't be on their breaks, so none of this would happen.
The OP was at home. She went outside to have a smoke and had her music in. She got tackled by her brother who thought she was an intruder because her hood was up due to the cold. The fact that she went out for a smoke has nothing to do with this at all. You are denser than a brick of Osmium. ******* xedgex kids.
Lol what's with reciting the entire FML 21? And if OP didn't smoke, they wouldn't have been outside, wouldn't have been cold, blah blah blahhh..
you can't say YDI. OP couldn't have known
Oooh, Claire_Noelle tries to make a logic argument but fails hard, how sweet. 'There are a lot of incidents with cars. If there were no cars, they wouldn't have any incident, so the car owners deserve it' 'There are a lot of criminals who steal money. If there was no money, it couldn't be stolen, so the money deserves it.' 'There are a lot of children who are raped by pedophiles. If there were no children, they couldn't be raped, so they deserve it.' Seriously? You think it's the fault of the smokers if they are attacked by their stupid brother, just because they smoke?
It's not opinion, Claire. You're argument is poor. I think djeepee explained it well enough.
*your
Hey you guys are entitled to your own opinions. But there's no need to be rude about it. Other people are saying the same exact thing and you're not giving them grief. And I wasn't saying it like it's kids fault that they're kids, but it is smokers fault that they're smokers because it's a choice. Please exercise some common human decency before you jump to conclusions.
Actually Djeepee pretty much hit the nail on the head describing your comment
the fact that the OP was smoking really isn't relevant. The point is that he was standing outside. He just happened to be smoking. He could have been doing many other things and te outcome would have been the same. Quit being so close-minded and look at your arguement and see if it really makes sense.
To be fair, smoking is already a stupid activity on its own. Drinking water isn't as dangerous as smoking. If you're going to do something stupid, like smoking, people shouldn't feel sorry for you if something bad happens to you coincidentally. Smoking is disgusting. Why feel sorry for someone who got hurt coincidentally while doing something that's going to hurt them in the long run anyway? Drinking water and driving a car aren't like smoking at all... Even if they are slightly dangerous, they at least serve a purpose while smoking serves no purpose and is detrimental...
Okay, fine. Let's pretend my argument was not the same. "Today, I went outside to feed the dog. I had my headphones in and was blasting my music. It was also cold so I had my hood up. I had my back turned to the house and wasn't paying attention. My brother thought I was a burglar and tackled me to the concrete. FML." "Today, I went outside to stretch for a jog. I had my headphones in and was blasting my music. It was also cold so I had my hood up. I had my back turned to the house and wasn't paying attention. My brother thought I was a burglar and tackled me to the concrete. FML." "Today, I went outside to lower my stress. I had my headphones in and was blasting my music. It was also cold so I had my hood up. I had my back turned to the house and wasn't paying attention. My brother thought I was a burglar and tackled me to the concrete. FML." So... Would OP deserve it for having a dog, or or feeding it? For jogging or stretching? For having stress or for trying to lower it? Same exact FML, different reason for being outside. Again, you're a moron.
I hate smoking. I don't even associate with smokers when I don't have to. I detest it. It's a dirty, stupid habit.. My aunt just died a month ago, in her 40s, from lung cancer because of her smoking. But it's a choice. Smoking doesn't make you a bad person, and you're not doing anything bad. Actually, OP is one of the few smokers who steps outside of their own home to smoke: A good quality, especially in cold weather. Smoking doesn't make you automatically at failt for everything bad that happens while you smoke.
That's completely different. Smoking is already a dangerous thing to do because of what it does to your health and those around you. Those are just regular, completely safe activities. Since smoking is already a stupid and dangerous thing to do you're putting yourself at risk by doing it already.
You're a moron for linking two unrelated events. What if instead of getting tackled to the ground, OP had been given $500? They were still smoking when it happened. You're acting like this happened because they smoked, but it didn't. You can't possibly create a link between the two, but say the same link doesn't apply with a different action. It's illogical, and arguing it makes you a moron.
Claire_Noelle, you just there made a point of what it does to "those around her"..... She was going outside to have a smoke so that she wouldn't be harming those around her. That just adds another level of stupidity to your argument. So how about we word it this way; "Today, I wanted a smoke. I knew it would be freezing outside but I didn't want my family to have to endure the stench of my smoke so I put a hoody on and went outside. My brother obviously didn't hear me walk out, thought I was a burglar and tackled me to the ground. FML." How is it her fault for thinking of the people around her? You don't like smoking? Great! You MIGHT live longer than those who do... MIGHT. But OP smoking is completely unrelated to anything that happens to her because she's standing in a particular place at that time. Odds are she would've been outside for a different reason if she didn't smoke, maybe just to get some fresh air. Your argument is moronic and invalid.
Holy shit, Claire. If OP had been raped while she was standing outside smoking, you probably would've blamed the ******* smoking too. Look, we get it, you don't smoke. But that doesn't mean that every bad thing that happens to someone is because they smoke. You probably can't understand what I'm saying from such great heights, though. If you don't smoke, bad things happen. AIDS IS RAMPANT. CHILDREN ARE STARVING. PEOPLE ARE DYING. NATIONS ARE CRUMBLING. NICKELBACK AND ICP EXIST. ALL BECAUSE YOU DON'T SMOKE.
I think what Claire is trying to say is thy because the OP smokes, te smoking habit placed the OP in the wrong place at the wrong time. she wasn't exactly blaming the smoking, just all he circumstances placed around the OP? correct me if I'm wrong. as for the OP, sorry, but at least your brother didn't take more drastic actions.
YDI for smoking.
coulda been worse. he coulda shot you. maybe not but hit you with a bat. YDI.
nice!
instead of smoking put in a lip. then you wouldn't have to go outside
Keywords
future note for posting fml's, never ever say you went outside to have a smoke. NEVER. even if you were hit by a bus..
How come smokers always get the most YDI's ? : It's completely out of my reach. It's like it was her fault her brother tackled her like that.
