This is a situation where the correct response is to politely but firmly request a different nurse. You don't have to be loud or make a scene about it, but you definitely shouldn't sit there and let your vein get destroyed by a drunk nurse armed with a huge needle - especially when you chose to donate blood and don't even have to be there at all. I hope you mentioned something to the supervisor, or literally anyone else working there, because she should not have been allowed to work that day.
This is when you pull back and in a slightly loud voice say,"wtf you're drunk?". Success occurs when enough people around can hear. Anyone that works in the medical profession and is attempting to work while under the influence(alcohol, marijuana, any debilitating substance) puts not only themselves but everyone they treat in jeopardy
I've had a similar experience just she told me I was the first person she ever stuck, but don't let it discourage you, I've given over 4 gallons (over 35 times) since then and never had another incident.

Step 1. Take syringe out of her hand. Step 2. Ask if she'd like to donate blood. Step 3. Regardless of what her answer is, go looking for HER vein. Have fun! And don't blame me for any consequences of your actions!
Wow. She could have not come in! Is she wearing gloves at least? Who knows what other mistakes she's making! RUN for your life!!!
