Today, I went to a dollar store with a couple friends to buy cap guns to play with. We were having a lot of fun with them, and took them onto a bus. 5 minutes later, three cops got on, handcuffed us, and sternly talked to us about the dangers of guns. We got arrested for toy guns. We are 17. FML

Everyone who thinks he deserved it because he's 17 and still playing with toy guns should realise that staying young at heart is important. I feel sorry for people unlike the OP, who never play any games.

Some places, like transportation vehicles and depots, choose to not allow guns of any type... even toy guns, since police officers mistake them for real guns. (Which apparently happened here.) Stupid, but there you go, luckily they didnt shoot to disarm/kill you.

Can't edit anymore, but #117, yes all toy guns come with an orange tip, but just an orange tip doesn't necessarily mean it's fake. I could take a real gun and paint an orange tip on it, and guess what- it's still real. So of course the cops would arrest them. And I have no problem with people playing with toy guns on their own property, but NOT in public. That's just stupid. Brandishing a gun (toy or not- as long as it looks somewhat realistic) is illegal, so they deserved to get arrested. The cops are just doing their jobs.

some states have laws against using toy guns in public because for the police it's not always obvious that they are toys and they want to avoid accidental shootings (as in the police shooting at someone for thinking they have a gun when it's a toy). YDI for being ignorant

hey #133, your ******* dumb, i was 12 and had a cap gun and got arrested and had about 12 guns pointed between me and my 2 friends, and yes anyone who may seem like a threat should be stopped. you dont realize that cops do that so when a guy who REALLY has a gun doesnt get away with it.

Good on you, ass hat. You deserved worse. This is why whenever airsofters see stories like this we laugh and say you could and should have gotten shot- our 'toy' guns look just as real as any, and when OUR sport gets banned because of morons like you, we'll probably hunt you down. Law enforcement has stepped up precautions because gangs have begun using gas blow-back airsoft pistols with their orange markings removed or even real guns painted in an unrealistic manner in order to facilitate robbery. Now, anything that looks like a firearm in any way, shape or form is responded to as a real-steel, live weapon. Which means you could have gotten shot. Which I would not have pitied. Use your brain.
