Today, I went to a restaurant with my boyfriend. After dessert, he went to the bathroom so I quickly called the waiter over and paid the bill, thinking it was a nice gesture. When he returned, he broke up with me for "emasculating" him. FML

Today, my boyfriend took me out to a fancy dinner. Halfway through, he said he wanted to break up. I started crying, but the whole restaurant thought he'd proposed, and started clapping. FML

Today, my boyfriend asked me out to dinner, which we never do. While at the restaurant he gets down on his knees, looks me in the eyes, and pulls out a little box. He opens it and inside is a note that says 'We're Done.' He then leaves me at the restaurant with the bill and the $2.00 box. FML

Today, after dating a guy for 2 months, things seemed to be going well. I offered to buy dinner and trusted he would keep in mind that I'm a college student on a budget. He picked the restaurant, ran up the bill over $100, made me pay, and dumped me right after. FML

dude, you're better off. the guy obviously has problems with his masculinity. he probably thinks you're inferior to him, too. there is nothing good about going out of your way to adhere to gender roles, especially to the point of feeling EMASCULATED when a woman does something for herself. the entire idea of chivalry is based on the notion that women are stupid and weak and need men to help them.

Well, that's quite bizarre to have a man act out that way over you wanting to pay. Most men from where I'm from would adore that sort of gesture. I can't say I've ever met a man who would ever object to a woman paying. Either way, sorry he was such a dick op. you def deserve better!
