Today, I went to city hall to pay for a parking ticket. After returning to my truck, I found a parking ticket on my window. FML

When you go back to City Hall to pay the second ticket, don't go back to your truck. That was your mistake the first time!

#41, I've always been that way, even when I was working in the oil industry, except the "let's live in the third world" part. We can use resources much more wisely and not lower our quality of life. #45 is right, and if we take the initiative to develop sustainable forms of energy, we will maintain the strongest economy in the world. If with stick with fossil fuels, we will become a third-world country.

I know in some carparks you do have to leave your car to pay for the ticket as soon as you park, then put it on the dashboard. But then again, usually the car is in eye distance from the ticket machine.

And if there isn't proper or enough parking near city hall - which is very often the case? I feel your pain OP. Stay out of Albany, NY. They keep parking supply artificially low so they can ticket and tow. *It's all about revenue.*
