Today, I was talking to my tattoo artist about how my girlfriend broke up with me. She had also gotten her tattoos from him, so they had talked quite a bit. He told me she had been cheating on me with her ex for two and a half months. He didn't tell me because he didn't want to lose business. FML

Today, my quite squeamish girlfriend came with me to get my latest tattoo. She saw a few drops of blood, screamed in the tattooist's ear, and completely fucked up part of the outline. She had to alter the tattoo drastically to cover up the mess and now it just looks bad. FML

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. Kids can disown or stop calling you. If anything, the only names that should even be considered for placing on your skin permanently are extremely close family members or spouses who died while you were on good terms with them.

YDI...no one should ever get a permanent reminder of a partner who may only temporarily be around. If you had been married for a really long time, then I could understand you wanting to document the marriage in a meaningful tattoo.
