you need a better nurse and report her, careless people these days
Umm she needs to try her job again! You should have stop her ass the first time she mess up. That a waste of your time and gas... And neither one is free.
She'll get it one of these days! Don't worry, you'll just look like a heroin addict in the mean time.
Don't go back to that chick demand someone esle
They have ultrasounds for that... And you could recommend them to use your hand, or another vein! I have them draw blood from my hand every time, because I hate them "digging" for a vein!
Bring a needle and stab her tomorrow!
1st blood tests don't tell you how far along you are. 2nd that happened to me, she told me I was imagining the pain I felt... Later that day I had the arms of a junkie cuz the blood leaked throughout my arm.
65- Yes, blood tests do tell how far along you are. When I was pregnant, a urine test kept showing negative even though I looked like I had swallowed a watermelon. So I went to the ER and they gave me a blood test. They informed me that I was, in fact, pregnant. And that I was 19 weeks along. So, yes, a blood test does tell how far along a woman is in her pregnancy.
A blood test can confirm pregnancy and give the level of hcg hormones a woman has but is pretty inaccurate when used to determine the gestation of a pregnancy. The levels expected at certain weeks overlap so much is it too hard to tell. With an hcg level of say 5000 you could be anywhere between 6 weeks and 12 weeks. An ultrasound is much more accurate if done before 12 weeks to determine the exact gestation. I've had 5 pregnancies and will soon have 2 living children. My son is almost 4 and I'm 30 weeks with my 2nd but after several miscarriages my drs have taught me a lot about the importance of hormones.
#99 Based on how high the hcg level is, a good guess can be made about the length of your pregnancy. Your doctor should do a vaginal sonogram to determine gestational age thus determining the due date. However, higher levels of the hormone HCG are often found in the case of multiples. (twins etc.) Lower levels of HCG may indicate the egg has inplanted in a place other than the uterus. (Fallopian Tube = Etopic Pregnancy) They most likely said that your ABOUT 19 weeks along and that you should have a sonogram. No medical evidence is out there that proves blood test can accurately tell you how far along you are due to the factors that play along. This is in med books.
Evidently you know nothing because they DO use blood work to tell how far along you are based on your HCG levels. It's not 100% and a dating ultrasound in early pregnancy is of course more accurate. I did not get an early ultrasound, I was 19 weeks and that is very inaccurate to use for dating. I have horrible veins but I feel sorry for the nurses and such because I know it can't be easy for them either.
your HCG levels go down later in pregnancy because the placenta "kicks in" some people can still test positive with a urine test though.
Not worthy of an fml.. Suck it up princess
1) Unless you are a Moderator, you shouldn't say what is worthy of an FML or not, you idiot. 2) How about you go through OP's situation and see if it's necessary to "suck it up", you "macho man".
I dunno how it is in the states but we don't do blood work to determine how far along you are. I'm in Canada and have health care paid for so I have no clue about this stuff in the states but is it super expensive to get an ultrasound? Because that seems like they could get a more accurate time line and less painful. That sucks op but congrats on the baby!!

Uh make sure you don't get her tomorrow again XD
That must be "bloody" painful.
