Today, I went to get my hair highlighted at the salon. The salonist mixed up my blonde hair dye with some other girl's hot pink and violet dye. Now I look like a cheap hooker. FML

so what's the big deal? obviously that's not what you wanted, I'm sure they'll redo it for you.

I'm not sure how they mixed up. Pink die is pink in the bowl, it doesn't go on white and turn pink, blonde die is never pink. You would have noticed when they were painting it on your hair. The FML implies that you had the colour applied and washed before you noticed, because if you had noticed during the process you would have had 1 pink or violet patch not pink and violet streaks...

Therefore YDI for not paying attention to what was being put on your hair...

Some pinks do appear white in the bowl. Some purples also look white. Mind you, each of these have a SLIGHT tint of the colour they are supposed to be... IE a purple cream in the mixing bowl would have a very faint, almost undetectable purple tint. When placed on hair, most of the time (unless doing black, certain browns, etc) the hair dye will appear white until most of the reaction time has passed. Even if it was slightly tinted in the bowl, on the hair it will look almost white and nearly impossible to distinguish from blonde dye until it starts to react.

#51 Also, when I got a streak bleached in my hair recently, the bleach used was purple. So it's true that it may have been an easy thing to mix up...

no hot pink dye i've ever encountered looks white... for a pale pink colour yes but not hot pink

I've used plenty of blond dye that looked pink/red in the bowl. It depends on the base the color is. She may usually get a red based blond that would look the same as a pink dye before it starts developing

Yes, but odd colored dyes are jellyish and a dark version of what they are. bleach and normal hair dye is creamy or liquid, not like jelly. I've dyed and bleached my own hair and friends' for years and I cannot see how this was even remotely possible.

a lot of bleaches are purple when you put them on.

Maybe you'd like some of the Rock's.....Strudel.

IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU JUST CALLED ME A JABRONI! Because we all know that while i am out getting more pie than you've had in your life, you're sitting on your computer jacking off to the next hot chick that joins FML, so you need to Know Your Role, and Shut Your Mouth!

starberries smells what the Rock is cooking.

I hate different colors besides the natural colors. I think it looks bad on people....just sayin. go your natural color !

well I think your plain highlights look boring as ****. so maybe you should live a little

I think that natural colors look like shit. Mainly because my natural color is brown. So is most people's. How are you supposed to express yourself if you have natural colored hair? That's saying "I'm expressing my boring ass personality!!!"

well, at least now you have something to do at night!

i have pink streaks, whats wrong with that.?=[

How can you watch what they are puttin in your hair when there working, typically behind you and the hair dye is always crazy colors anyway. I say they should fix it for free

by looking in the mirror whilst the dye is being applied? Suggestion, OP.... Next time, don't go to Curl Up And Dye, find a different salon instead

I have pink, blond and orange hair. I don't look like a stripper! what's wrong with un-natural hair colors? I say you should embrace this new look an keep them! ;)

What's wrong with unnatural hair colours? Well, for one thing she may have a job where they aren't allowed. For another, it's not what she wants. Unnatural hair colour is fine if it expresses who you are, but for her it obviously doesn't.
