As everyone's already said, I hope you enjoyed the thrilling, I'm-somebody-now feeling of going in and saying "the usual," because everything else about that decision was unbelievably stupid. As for whether this is an FML, someone help me out here: what's stopping you from getting the back of your hair cut as short as your top? Maybe you wanted to keep your hair long but it's not like you can't fix a mullet into something that looks better.
business up front and party in the back. what more could you want?
didn't you try to stop it? do you even go there a lot/ had the person cut ur hair a lot?
You always want to give at least a brief description before your haircut. If for some reason you think the hairstylist is going to remember what you want, you still need to clarify. Chances are if you don't, you're not going to get what you want. Personally, I doubt this happened. When you go into a hair cut, we can get a basic idea of how your hair was last cut by looking at your hair. If your hair was short enough to grow out into a mullet, YDI for not telling the hairstylist to shorten it up in the back. Your hairstylist isn't going to be offended, so suck it up and tell her/him what you really want. On the other side, hairstylists tend to clarify what they are going to give you before it happens, especially if it's a mullet. Maybe you should consider a hairstylist with better communication skills, and then it would do you good to gain some yourself.
if it's "the usual" and she gave you a mullet, you obviously don't go there very often if your hair is long enough for a mullet. your fault, not hers.
HAHA! you should definately follow #46's advice! were you not paying attention? u think you would have noticed that she wasnt cutting your way like she normally does?!?!?!?
Seems like the hair dresser could tell by your old hair style that you didn't have a mullet -- well unless it was a mullet.
okay, why am i the only one saying Fake? -- either the hair stylist is a complete ******* moron because its 2010 and mullets havent been popular for 20 + years, even if she thought she knew who it was, with such an extreme hair style, she shouldve clarified it first because im highly doubting theres more then 1 person who goes into a hairstylist for a mullet. also, like said above, for him to have 'the usual' and it be a mullet, wouldnt he have to have a mullet in the first place?? or atleast something along the lines of it? and he never noticed once that he was getting long hair presumably past the neckline in the back, and shorter, tethered hair on the side and front?

Why would you say the usual? Even my regular hairdresser of 15 years has a lot of customers and I always have to make sure she knows what I want to get for a haircut. I would never say the usual. Your loss.
This means someone else REGULARLY gets a mullet cut. FTL.
