He needs to be reported. Open wounds leave you susceptible to bacteria and all sorts of nasty stuff.
I'm a dentist and if your dentist is "stabbing" you in the gums while examining your mouth it's to check their health. It's called checking for gingival pockets. The instrument used isn't sharp and if you bleed anyway, your gums are unhealthy. If you bleed during cleaning, it means he has to go really deep into the gums to clean out the plaque and tartar from there. Which means there is going to be some bleeding and which also means your oral hygiene isn't great and you're just shifting the blame.
How are so many people not getting this FML? The dentist was DISTRACTED, so he was intensely and forcefully stabbing them with the instrument causing the gums to become damaged and cut which made them bleed. It was not due to the OP's oral hygiene, it was because of the dentist's incompetence.
Yes of course you are inclined to believe the dentist commenting here because he's a professional so of course they're right because professionals never make mistakes and then try to cover their asses by saying the OP is merely shifting the blame. Oh and he was there when OP was getting his teeth cleaned so he definitely knows what happened, I have had a dentist get distracted while talking to her assistant about the assistants damn baby shower and stab me in the lip and tongue 3 times before while cleaning my teeth, I am inclined to believe the OP's story could be true and then tried to say I kept moving, trust me you have your hands in my mouth I'm not going to wiggle enough for you to stand me in the lip
I had an orthodontist do this once. He full on stabbed my gum though to the point I had a tear or two. Then turned around and said you need to brush better! I was probably 15 and hated going back to him.
Ugh, now I really don't want to go to my dentist appointment this week.
If your gums bleed easily it is actually a sign to floss more
Tell him this is fake because this work has clearly been stolen elsewhere
Ugh, I feel your pain, OP. My dentist was terrible, but I couldn't change until we moved because it was the only one nearby.
Never has a dentist cleaned my teeth... Only dental assistants/hygienists. When does a dentist have time to do work that is delegated for others? This FML is just strange in that way. Could just switch to a different hygienist.
Well, it has always been the dentist, not the technician done that in my life and I've been living in two countries.
I think this is an old, reposted FML...

That's when you bite his finger and say it was just a natural reaction.
Tell him he needs to be finding a new patient since you're leaving
