Today, I went to the doctors and was told I would need an inhaler. My mom came back from the pharmacy and told me the copay of $35 dollars was way too expensive, so she is making me use my cat's old inhaler. My mom values my cat's ability to breathe more then my own. FML

First! And geez. Some of these FMLs border on child abuse.

Ouch, >< $35 bucks isn't too much, I'm sure you can find some way to make that money. Jeesh I'm sorry.

DUDE! SELL THAT CAT AND GET YOURSELF THE INHALER, THEN TELL YOUR MOM THAT THE CAT DIED FOR NOT HAVING ITS INHALER!

If you had free health care like we do in Britain, you would have gotten it far cheaper or free on the NHS. :)

Free - my Brother has one. But the NHS would be COMMUNISM!! And the republicans are terrified of the C-word!

You deserved it because your names transphobic, and you can get a job.or benefits ,whereas your cat is helpless!!!

Im calling bs on this one. The doctor's appointment it self must have been well over $35.

That's why it says COPAY. Pay attention, now....

The doctor office copay for me is 20....but your mom's a bitch....35 is nothing....If you are over 16, get a job and you can make that 35 a handful of hours...

Your cat kills mice and rats, and you are just a parasitic burden on your family. If you only had the money to keep one member of the house alive, wouldn't you choose the productive one?

That is child abuse. What that mother has done is illegal. If she can't afford $35, perhaps she qualifies for medicaid for her child.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe the OP didn't need the inhaler for asthma? I have had bronchitis 4 times in the past year and every time i get it they write me a stupid rx for an inhaler, every single time i go to fill it they tell me it will be $35, jfyi, i have never filled it because $35 is alot and i know it is really not that necessary. When you have bronchitis, all an inhaler does is open up your lungs a bit more so it makes it more comfortable to breathe since your lungs are so inflamed, it is not absolutely necessary that you have an inhaler to survive. So I am with the mom on not paying the $35 ONLY if the inhaler was because you had bronchitis, although making you use your cats inhaler is probably made up because that isn't even possible unless your mom is a total idiot. However, if your mom wasn't wanting to pay $35 for an asthma inhaler(not related to bronchitis), that is borderline child abuse or at the very least neglect.
