Today, I went to the gym to lift weights because my arm muscles are pathetic. In order to use a machine, I needed to pull out a knob to adjust the seat setting. After an embarassing struggle, a worker came over and helped me. Turns out I'm not even strong enough to adjust the seat settings. FML

I would say to buy some of your own free weights, but I doubt you would be strong enough to carry them to the cash register at the sporting goods store.

Perhaps you should've started with some freeweights? (i.e. barbells...)

I voted YDI to make the 666 go away, but this really is an FYL. Like everyone else said though, you probably just didn't know how to do it right seeing as how you haven't really been to the gym before.

been there, done that... being a weakling sucks

Lol to quote yourself "You're just a sexist jerk" talk about being a hypocrit

I was thoroughly entertained until I saw that you were female. In which case I'm actually going to applaud you for working on your muscles. It's really sad that women feel the need to run and run and run and not have to lift weights. In fact, my girlfriend now constantly gets hit on by this trainer at my gym because he's "never seen a girl lift so much". Anyways, the trick to adjusting the seat is (at least at my gym) to lift the seat up just a little bit to set the knob loose. Sometimes, after someone has used a machine, I guess the weight of the previous person forces the seat to sit on the knob funny and makes it difficult to simply pull out. Just lift or jiggle the seat a tiny bit and voila. Keep working at it and you'll be a pro in no time. G'luck on your arms, it's my weakest body part too.

Give it a few months and you'll do it all with ease! ^^
