Today, I went to the gym to lift weights because my arm muscles are pathetic. In order to use a machine, I needed to pull out a knob to adjust the seat setting. After an embarassing struggle, a worker came over and helped me. Turns out I'm not even strong enough to adjust the seat settings. FML

I would say to buy some of your own free weights, but I doubt you would be strong enough to carry them to the cash register at the sporting goods store.

Perhaps you should've started with some freeweights? (i.e. barbells...)

You're like me. o_o Except I'm going to borrow my younger brother's weights and see if somehow that'll work. My arms muscles are pretty pathetic too.

Yea those things suck, they're often bent out of shape from abuse from gym members- I can't adjust them very easily either. Don't let anybody give you shit, you're taking steps to make yourself better, and everybody has got to start somewhere! Kudos for that.

people she said her arm muscles are pathetic, not that she is trying out for the weight lifting competition or anything! Women with toned arms are attractive..and I'm a female myself.

Well at least you're a woman.

hey, everyone has to start somewhere. Tomorrow, you will be stronger than you are today.

Some of the seat adjustment nobs also have to be turned and loosened before you can pull them out, so you might have not known to turn it first.

well do you know what it doesn't even matter well done you for at least getting as far as going to the gym as most people wouldn't good for you!!

Free weights are better, use 5 or 10lbs or whatever.

Hey at lest you are going to the gym, that is A LOT better than most of the population

Honestly, don't beat yourself over it. I always have trouble with adjusting a seat I'm unfamiliar with when I am at the gym. Hell, sometimes its just stuck! Not your fault. And I'm a regular, for the record :P don't feel discouraged
