Today, I went to the orthodontist, and found out when I was supposed to get my braces off. His exact words, "You'll get them off around Christmas... but we're not sure what year." FML

Unfortunately not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign, otherwise I wouldn't be spending 3 and a half years with my train tracks :/

yea it sucks to have braces in the moment but trust me, 1 year or 5 years, you will love the rest of your life with great looking teeth.

Maybe it's just me but I took it as the orthodontist failing at a corny joke. Around Christmas but not sure which year because it's either the end of December 2015 or the beginning of January 2016. No orthodontist is so unsure about whether someone needs braces for another entire year.

Make sure you wear your retainer. Your teeth will shift back to how they were before. Mine broke and I couldn't afford a new one.

You'll be glad in the end when you have straight teeth. I had mine for about 8, and my sister wore hers for a decade.

I feel ya! Mine told me I would get mine off in March... I ended up getting them off in November.

I went to the same orthodontist for 14 years. I had a spacer in for 5 years (they said it was supposed to be 2 but they just kept it in). I finally left them and went to a new orthodontist. The new place was shocked and said it shouldn't have been in my mouth in the first place. They took it out the first day I was there. They charged my parents outrageous amounts of money for it as well. Go get a second opinion. It really helps.
