Best sunburn cure I know is tomato. Really. Those big beef tomatoes work best, straight out of the fridge. Cut one in half and gently rub it on your skin - it really cools the burn down and helps it to heal faster. Let the juice sit on your skin for a few hours before you wash it off. I did a quick comparison last summer when I got sunburn on both shoulders (I have red hair and pale skin so I can burn while wearing SPF50 if I'm not careful), I used tomato on one shoulder and a normal after-sun cream on the other. The tomato healed the skin much faster than the after-sun.
I totally know how you feel. When I was 16 I went to the beach with my best friend and got sunburn literally all over my back (even with SPF 50), and because I'm so pale it was SUPER bad (lobster red). I had my brother put the sun burn relief stuff on my back and when it kept hurting he put more on. Turns out my allergic reaction to that stuff is an intense burning pain. Intense burning pain from sunburn+intense burning pain from allergic reaction=WORST NIGHT EVER.
Been there, done that. for years my family told me to 'suck it up,' that iwas over-reacting for attention. turns out I'm allergic to aloe.
That must suck sorry. Hope you get better! :)

soak a soft cloth(or shirt) in milk and put it on the sunburn...it takes the sting out and helps so you dont peel as badly. i get sunburned alllll the time.
