epic awesome shirt! ftw!
Briana, although you didn't directly acknowledge it as one, I'll take your comment as a reply to mine (probably wrongfully so, but whatever). First, read post numbers 109 and 157 for my opinion on the shirt. Anyways, regardless of how funny the shirt is, just because something is made fun of doesn't mean it can't be enforced. Do you honestly believe that someone finding a misogynistic shirt funny correlates with their thoughts on rape? I'd hope not. You have to be able to take a joke, even if it is in bad taste. When the guy who made that shirt made that shirt, he wasn't thinking "Hmmm...how can I express my hatred for women in a way that everyone will be able to see?", but more along the lines of "Hey, my teenage son had a funny Facebook status today, I should so totally make that into a shirt. It would be hella cool."
Briana, "rough or immoderate vehemence, as of feeling or language" You're right, no physical brutality is needed. But, as I said: "Well, I suppose if his girlfriend hates him finishing on her face, and he forced her to endure it, then sure. But I doubt it." So it's not a case of that. I'm sorry, but being a victim of related incident doesn't quite allow you to override the dictionary. Neither do sarcastic comments that imply a lack of understanding of condescension.
Forgive me for not finding humor in jokes that exploit women in an effort to entertain people. As long as people allow such "jokes" to be printed and verbalized then women will continue to be victimized. Such jokes desensitize people to such VIOLENCE. And please do not show me any dictionary definitions. I will have a Master's degree in about 6 months. I am capable of reading. And in case you're wondering: my masters will be in psychology and womens studies. My entire career as a graduate student has been saturated with analyzing the patriarchal values of Western societies and how humor and entertainment at the expense of women is deemed acceptable. The only way to ameliorate it is to speak up, even if it is against a "stupid" statement printed on a shirt.
Ok, Briana, as a female myself I sympathize with your anger. HOWEVER, it is not an act of violence towards women unless she is FORCED to do it. Having a guy wank out a load on your face in rather disgusting, yes, but if you're down there by your own choice, then your fault. It isn't sexual violence and some women get off on it--why, I don't know. If it is forced, then yes, it is sexual violence, But thessad is right: Just because someone out there finds a shirt funny doesn't mean that all do. And it isn't going to stop women from receiving protection, corrupt systems are. Blaming the company for sexual violence is like blaming Smith and Wesson for gun deaths. That isn't how it works--it is people, not companies. However, I agree that the shirt is tasteless and that any guy who wears it is a complete ass. He did say it was an "old shirt," maybe he grew up after buying it...

...Why do you even own a shirt that says that, much less wear it in public? XD. This made me laugh, but you definitely deserve it. Wear vulgar clothes, get in trouble.
LOVE that shirt!
