Who walks into a Kitchen and turns on an oven like you assumed nothing is in it. People are known to store pots and pans there.

That's why you ALWAYS check it. Even if there has never been anything in there before. I turned the oven on once and burned up my cake that took me hours of work.

This is why OPs mum hid it in the oven cause she knew her daughter wouldn't check in there ;)

Redmain i have to agree with robinhood i live in the same kind of household all my friends and there familys never even heard of that storingthe pot and pans in the oven and use a rag to dry its faster and dont use gas or anything and as far as that rule for checking it ya my moms a pro baker and shes never heard or read that anywher.. But ok
