Today, I woke up at 5 and studied for my 9:30am exam for 4 hours. When I left my dorm at 9, it was dark outside. Turns out I slept through the entire day and woke up at 5pm. FML

I can relate. I've slept through a class I had a really important presentation in because my alarm had been set for pm. Yeah, my fault, but I think this is a valid FML.

well i woke up late and missed my final in college...it was a Spanish class and luckily my teacher let me make it up in her other Spanish class she was giving finals to....but she made my exam way harder...and it bumped me a grade down... :( It happens..i haven't experienced the 12 hour delay though b/c i make sure to set my alarm after 8 pm so it doesn't ring at 8 pm that night instead of 8 am the next morning...

This is what happens when you have no window and don't feel like venturing outside. Why? Because most people choose not to venture outside when they think that it is early morning.

Oh, and about the AM/PM thing- ok, this may be hard to handle, but some people use traditional ANALOG clocks. I know, I know that's a hard concept to wrap your mind around, but it's true. If you don't know what analog is, then look it up, you idiot. Last time I checked, the majority of analog clocks do not say AM or PM, unless they're fancy ones that most college students either can't afford or care not to spend the money on.

Only a dumbass would be able to accomplish this.

You should learn how to use a clock and an alarm

In winter it's very easy to do. I have done it several times.

Okay, I understand making the initial mistake. But you slept for 12 hours longer than you expected to? Were you drunk? Holy shit, I've slept for long periods of time, but I think I can notice if I slept 12 more hours than expected.

If you can't tell the difference between 5am and 5pm, you probably wouldn't have done too well on the exam anyway...

I so feel your pain. Just last week I was an hour and a half late for work. Apparently, my boyfriend woke me up and I was conscious and verbally communicative at 10 AM, though I don't remember this happening. But I either wasn't actually ever awake or fell back asleep before my memory kicked in, and I ended up sleeping in until 5 PM, and I had to be at work at 4. I was woken up by my manager calling me. It took me a half hour to actually get going and get to work in a super-rush. It hadn't happened to me in a while and it was a scary reminder that I can never be really certain of when I'll wake up--I'm right with #78. D:
