How does that even happen? Was it corrective surgery for a break or to remove something, or what? You'd think at some point they'd notice what they were aiming to fix/remove wasn't there. FYL OP, hopefully they'll reimburse you nicely to compensate for the trouble.
I had a friend who's sister went into knee surgery, and when the surgeon opened up the wrong knee he did notice nothing was wrong with it. He tried to hide it though and they eventually sued the hell out of him.
They aren't all scare stories, I had my gallbladder taken out last year. Should have been a routine surgery but 5 hours, a blood transfusion, cut bile duct, and a clip that should have been removed later (its still in me) I still can't get my medical records from the hospital to take to a lawyer.
Maybe you should get a better doctor or even hospital :)
Call DocBastard.
#62 I completely understand!
What a knee slapper!
We all know who won't be slapping their knee!
Damn! New job opening lol
Some people had a good night out!! OMG Thats horrible!!
Dude, sue them. What idiots..
I agree
Are you getting a complimentary wheelchair?
At least now you have an excuse to get a wheel chair
That's a big lawsuit. Dude call a lawyer immediately.
Oh no they performed a never event on you! A never event is deemed an inexcusable mistake in healthcare that should never happen, and one of them is wrong site surgery. Get yourself a good lawyer and sue!
Too bad never events don't never happen. they're way more common than you'd think.

One of the few times I would actually suggest suing. I have heard stories of people drawing arrows and notes on themselves to ensure the surgeons work on the correct limb.
OMG! I would kill!!!! So sorry to hear OP!!
