Well that's definitely a malpractice lawsuit. Sorry to hear you have to go through that though. Hope both knees end up having a speedy recovery.
Wow, american medical IS terrible
One jackass of a doctor does not condemn the entire medical system. The medical system in the U.S.is the best in the world overall.
you knee'd to find a new doctor. it was probably a joint decision which one to operate on.
Ooooh, you gonna be rich! Sue them!
if that happened to me I would have hit the doctor over the head with his degree
Oh my god I'm so sorry! That's so awful, as everyone else has said definitely sue especially since you're in the US. I hope knee you got surgery on is ok and hope one you needed it on will be ok soon that person should not work in the medical profession
Sadly this is a bit common. Or having surgical tools left behind inside you.
Definitely gross negligence on the staff's part. ALL surgeries, no matter how minor are all supposed to have a 'Time Out' to ensure they are operating on the correct site. Not only could you sue the doctor but also all staff that was in the room at the time.
Well that does suck., but DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY YOU GET WHEN THEY MESS UP A SURGERY?!

One of the few times I would actually suggest suing. I have heard stories of people drawing arrows and notes on themselves to ensure the surgeons work on the correct limb.
OMG! I would kill!!!! So sorry to hear OP!!
