Today, I woke up to a weird feeling on my face. Thinking it was a bug, I slapped at it. It was my freshly-inserted nose ring. FML

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this everyone thinks I'm insane..but if I have a bug on my face I would rather have slapped myself and killed it than to be bite or something lol

At least your mom didn't cause you to rip it out by smacking you because she though you were picking your nose when you were just touching the nose ring. Anyone remember that FML?

Don't know that FML, buuuuuuut it reminds me of when I sometimes go to adjust mine in public and suddenly realize it looks like I'm picking my nose...... Seriously, one day there is going to be an FML on here about someone spotting a 30 yr old barista picking her nose in public..... lmao

I figure all the people who voted YDI have never had a facial piercing... I had to relearn to blow my nose after getting my nose ring, so as not to catch the tissue on the screw every time. And same thing as the OP, my nose would itch and I'd be half-asleep so wouldn't be awake enough to be aware it was my nose ring until the pain of accidentally tugging on it when I tried to itch my nose... grrr - it's okay, OP, you'll get used to it... well... mostly... still sometime have a startled moment when i wear coloured studs and they pop out slightly so i can see them so i'm like "what's on my face??!!" for a split second, lmao! I worried I would look at it so much I'd get cross-eyed like in the movie, The Jerk (hopefully there's someone old enough to know that movie besides me here.... lol)

I did that once to my snake bites while they were still new though.. only thing is i got a huge fright and tried to pull them out.. haha:D.. I feel your pain though..
