If she assumed it was a story or something that you wanted her to critique and didn't realize it was a love letter you can't blame her for not choosing you(You can, however, blame her for choosing an abusive ex over just staying single).

Don't feel bad, OP. She's just an idiot if she can't read cursive, or it's even worse if she can read cursive and thought it'd sound better to just say she couldn't read it. You wouldn't want to get directly into a relationship with someone whose been an abusive relationship-- for who knows how long, anyway. For one, the boyfriend may wanna kill you/ hurt you or both of you, and two, she would need help I think to get reacquainted to a normal/ non-abusive relationship. Don't waste your time, you've tried--- but it's silly to waste anymore time on her as she seems to not want what's actually better for her.
