Can I just point out here that you are not apart of the relationship and therefore would not have all the details? Why do people these days see relationships as so black and white? Oh yes he may have been a bit abusive to her, but that is all the information we have been given. No definition of what the word 'abusive' means to the OP and no other details about the relationship.

The sticking point for me in this is not that she can't read cursive (which is sadly laughable), but that she didn't try to find someone to interpret it for her. She doesn't give a shit about you, OP. I'm sorry but someone who liked you even a little bit would've found it novel that you wrote her a letter and would've found a way.
