It is for reasons like this that I don't try to be active.
Jumping out of bed is not to be taken literally.
Look at the bright side: Now you have physical therapy for your knee to get started getting active.
If it helps, I've injured myself sleeping and I still manage to get out and hike. Rest up, get your knee fixed--talk to a doctor about it, they might be able to get you in for a few weeks of physical therapy--and then get up NORMALLY out of bed and go for a SLOW jog. Speed comes with practice, otherwise you hurt yourself.

Don't be discouraged OP. I've lost over 80 lbs and that has come with a few injuries. It's great that you're getting started, so don't let this unmotivate you. If it's too bad, a doctor visit might be needed. Good luck.
I was once an adventurer, but I'm unable to do as much, since the day a projectile hit my knee.
